Arnot-Roberts Falanghina Handal-DenierVnyd/DryCreekVlly/SonomaCnty (12%; 5 brls) Healdsburg 2019: Burnished bronce/dark gold color; rather quiet/low-key slight nutty/pungent/slight oxidative lightly floral/hollyhocks/zinnias/dandelions some complex very attractive very interesting nose; rather tart/tangy slight nutty/bit oxidative bit earthy/dusty lightly floral/dandelios/hollyhocks slight pungent/earthy fairly complex quiet/interesting flavor; long quiet/low-key slightly pungent/earthy lightly floral/hollyhocks/dandelions some complex slight nutty/oxidative lovely finish; originally was a rather bland/vapid expression of Falanghina; still on the quiet/low-key side but has developed into a really interesting mature Falanghina.

2.Rijckaert Chard Ad'OC: Cotes du Jura VieillesVignes Vigne des Voises (13%; TerrestialWine/Manhasset/NY) Rijckaert/Davaye 2201: Med.gold color; quite fragrant Alpine white flowers; some Chard/melony/bit Burgundian fairly spicy bit earthy/Burgundian rather complex nose; quite tart/tangy/bit metallic strong floral/Alpine white flowers/melong/Chard rather earthy/Burgundian/dusty/OV fairly complex flavor; very long fairly rich Alpine flowers/melony/Chard finish that mimics the flavor; quite a good example of a non-oxidative Jura Chard but a bit on the pricey side for what it is.

NaIads Badiki PGI: Tyrnavos/Greece (12%; EklektionImprts/Wilimington/DE; 30 days skin contact) PaprasWnry/Tyrnavos/Greece 2022: Rather amber/brownish/very cloudy/hazy color w/ loads of tartrates sediment; very strong resinous/VM/phenolic/skin-contact rater earthy/loamy/dusty slight orangey/fruity slight natty/unclean/bit bretty pretty unattractive nose; quite tart/tangy some tannic strong phenolic/resinous/VM/skin-contact rather tannic/bitter somewhat unclean/natt/funky rather unattractive flavor w/ light bitey/bitter tannins; long finish mimics the flavor; pretty strong resinousVM character that ay improve, or may not; some natty/unclean haracter that makes this a pretty unattractive orange wine. $21.50 (KK)

1. Badik: One of the many indigenous grapes found in Grece, of which there is precious little information. This is a skin-contact/amber wine as well as a natural wine. And a bit too unclean/natty for my tastes. Nothing to indicate that Badiki should be being planted all up&down the Coast of Calif.
