Tried these two recent buys last night:
1. Weingut Schauer SauvBlanc Quarz & Schiefer DAC: Sudsteiermark (12.5%; www.Weingut-Schauer.At; 100% harvested by hand; SortingTable/Napa/CA) Weingut Schauer/Kitzeck/Sausal/Austria 2021: Med.light yellow color; very strong citrusy/grapefruity/melony/SB slight floral/carnations quite aromatic some flinty/mineral some complex nose; quite tart/tangy rather minerally/flinty/steely strong melony/SB/bit herbal/ripe slight citric/grapefruity bit NZ-like but more mineral & richness quite lovely complex flavor; very long/lingering finish that matches the flavor; has the richness of a Calif SB but the minerality of a Sudstiermark SB; a beautiful balanced expression of SB at a very attractive price. $25.00 (SFW&S)

2. Nosio Dinotte Mezzacorona IGT: Rosso Vigneti delle Dolomite (13%; www.Mezzacorona.It; PrestigeWineImprts/NY; Teroldego/Marzemino/Merlot) Nosio/Mezzacorona 2018: Very dark color; beautiful blackberry/boysenberry/chocolaty/Tero some earthy/dusty/OV lightly floral/Marzemino very fragrant/aromatic lovely nose; lightly tart fairly rich/lush very strong Tero/blackberry/black cherry cola bit ripe/chocolaty bit earthy/rustic/dusty/OVslight Italianate/rustic slight floral fairly complex flavor w/ modest tangy tannins; very long/lingering finish mimics the flavor; a wonderful rustic expression of Tero; a steal at $14.00 (LCSWS)

More sittlekerp from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. SauvBlanc: The Sudsteiermark of Austria makes some/many of the greatest SauvgBlancs in the World. This was a new producer for me. I was struck by the strong balance between the ripe fruit and the minerality. They make a wide range of varietals & I'd like to try more of them.

2. Mezzacorona: Another new producer for me that showed up last week at LaCasaSena wine shop. From its provenance, I expected it to be quite good. It exceeded those expectations. It's almost the equivalent of the Foradori basic Tero at less than half the price. An outstanding value
