A few recent slurps

These are few snapshots/impressions of wines from the last few evenings. None of the venues were conducive to note taking or sobriety, so I offer these FWTW.

1998 Domaine De Beaurenaud (CdP)
Herbs, black fruit with a touch of oak/vanilla. Appears to be still slumbering, so if I owned any of these I'd be inclined to let them sleep for at least a couple of years.

1995 Beringer Bancroft Ranch Merlot (Howell Mtn, Napa)
Dense and full bodied. Black cherry, chocolate with touch of oak that never gets in the way. Plenty of structure/tannins remain. I suspect at or approaching maturity, but no need to rush to consume. Nice, and it not often I say that about new world Merlot.

1998 Pegau Reservee
I was looking forward to tasting this as I have a stash in my cellar, but it was not to be...hopelessly corked.

2001 Edmunds St John Los Robles Viejos, Rozet Vineyard (Paso Robles)
Nice as always. 'Nuf said.

1994 Ch Montelena Late Harvest Viognier
Sugar water. Perhaps better in its' youth, but just an insult to my liver at this point.
Smile, it gives your face something to do!
