LaStella is a BC winery that names their wines after Italian musical terms. Expressivo is a blend of 35.4% cab sauv, 31% cab franc, 18.5% merlot, and (presumably to qualify for the super Tuscan theme), 16% sangiovese.

Fairly dark, and showing a nose primarily of cedar and cassis but with additions of forest floor and the cassis carried through on palate. The sangiovese contributed acidity and the finish was lengthy. Damn - should have been buying this wine every year!

Time to open a bottle of the Fortissimo, which is a very similar blend but with the merlot in higher proportion.

If you have this available to you, I suggest that you hunt it down con brio!

We drank our last Fortissimo, a '12 or '13 I don't recall which, last year. My reaction was similar to yours: why didn't I buy more of this?
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
