WTN: Nuits St. Georges of the Jungle

by David M. Bueker » Sun May 21, 2023 9:45 am

2013 Domaine Alain Michelot Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Cailles - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru (5/21/2023)
Still early for this, as it needed 90 minutes of air to even start fleshing out, but the aromatics are wonderful now. Lacy, elegant and layered, with plenty of fruit, it is starting to display earthy touches that will increase with more cellar time. Medium bodied, the one area where this still seems to be in hiding is the mid-palate, but it has good finishing depth, so I suspect that’s going to improve with more cellar time.
