This blend of cab shiraz was something that impressed me when I bought it in the early 90s - ton of sweet fruit (and lots of wood) and it maintained a fair bit of attraction as it aged, but at some point the wood overcame the fruit and the acidity which has always been prominent no longer pleased as the level of sweet fruit was no longer there to balance it..

Maybe with a rich winter stew (or in it?).

OTOH, it was sharing room with an Italian wine I had forgotten about - 2010 Palari Faro - put it on my list of these varietals for future tastings (60 percent Nerello Mascalese, 20 percent Nerello Cappuccio, 15 percent Nocera and small amounts of the rare Sicilian varieties Cor'e Palumba, Jacche, and Acitana. I posted that so whenever we come upon a puzzling mystery wine, Jenise can ask if it has any Acitana in it...
