This Aussie red, a blend of syrah, cabernet and malbec (or sometimes merlot) is almost 30 years old now and I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Henschke used to call this wine Euphonium (and likely still does). These have been sitting in my cellar since release along with other wines up to the Cyrila Hanschke and I thought I should try a bottle.

Very decent, the syrah prominent but softened and the additional flavour interest offered by the cab and malbec adding some interest. Still in good shape and should drink for awhile yet.

Always enjoyed their wines when I had the chance. Just didn’t have the chance very often.

Did you open that in Bruce's honor? I recall him bringing one to a dinner at the Ham BAG.

Yes - we'd enjoyed a couple of bottles of it together.
