WTN: Ruchottes through the heart, and you’re to blame

2008 Domaine Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Ruchottes - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru (4/23/2023)
A bit of a miracle find in my late father’s cellar, this was a spectacular bottle, with copious yellow fruit, spice and mineral depth. Delicious out of the fridge, it was 10X better as it warmed up towards cellar temp, with greater mid-palate weight and an infinitely longer finish. Why my dad ever bought this bottle is beyond me, but I am glad he did, yet sad he did not get to experience it.

Must have cost a small fortune for a Ramonet 1er cru. Glad it wasn't premoxed. I don't follow white Burgundy very closely--is 2008 before or during the "premox era"?

Mmmmmm....

Speaking of finds, the other day I found a '98 Burg Grand Cru from Chandon de Brialles--in the riesling cubby. Didn't even know I had it.

My dad bought it on release for about $75. Yes that was premox period, but this bottle was perfect. My mom loved it, so that was good.
