With a sage-y homemade cream of mushroom and tomato soup:

1998 Chateau Musar Bekaa Valley Red Blend
Medium red color. Spicy nose. Not feral as some other bottles were reported to be. Multi-layered on the mid-palate, sweet fruit on the long finish. Glorious as expected, especially after it occurred to me to move it from a Bordeaux glass to a Burgundy bowl--huge difference. Was so much more complete in the 2nd glass.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Nice!

I do love Musar. Not sure why I never open it.

I love as well but well known for variation. I think I only have a lone bottle left ('80?). I was willing to chance the variation when you could get bottles with a little age for $40-50, but often $100+ now. Thanks Jenise for the note - a reminder why I did buy in past!

You know what, I never owned enough bottles to have problems with variation. I accept that it exists but all mine so far have been good, as was this. [knock wood] All I have now are some '13s. Might be awhile.
