Canonical spelling

I've been drinking a bottle of very good Yoakim Bridge Petite Syrah 2012, and I got to wondering.
Dave Cooper, the owner/winemaker, spelled it as above, but I've seen Petit/Petite Syrah/Sirah. 4 possibilities.
Is one of them more "correct" that the other three?

Jancis Robinson's tome Wine Grapes uses Petite Sirah. That's good enough for me.

With Bueker on that. I've also seen Sirrah. Either way, certainly makes sense to reduce the confusion in the world about the grape by NOT spelling it 'syrah', no matter what you do with the P word.

I guess you're right, but it's going to be hard to convince all those wineries. :)
It's definitely true that the stuff is neither petite nor Syrah. I like it anyway, as long as I can be patient with it.

Same here. I own a fair bit, and it’s likely to outlive me.
