WTN: Just to raise me up a crop of dental floss

2019 Bedrock Wine Co. A Buffalo in Montana (Ode to Joel) - USA, California (2/21/2023)
Limited production, blend from iconic vineyards, tribute to an actual living legend…oh the hell with it, pull a cork! At least I have two.

First sip sent me directly to Dry Creek. I had long since forgotten the specific makeup of this wine, but Teldeschi stood out. The deep fruit expression was all Dry Creek. It took a while to get past that initial wall of fruit, but after a couple of hours there was more bright acidity, bramble, scrub brush and a spicy top note elevating the blend. Most importantly it was ridiculously drinkable. I made a deliberate choice to leave a large glass for the second night, and that let more of the other elements come out. I can’t really say what aroma or flavor was from Nervo, Bedrock, or Old Hill (OK…maybe Old Hill), but the blend was more harmonious, if I did miss some of that exuberance of the Dry Creek fruit. There’s no harm in drinking this now to enjoy the youthful energy of the wine, and I won’t venture predictions about where it will go, as I have no real basis to assess this blend other than on the basis of the component parts which are all top notch. So it should age very well, I am just not sure I want to let it.
