2018 Booker Vineyard Oublie - this blend of mourvedre, grenache and syrah was dark, ripe, and well integrated. Sweet fruit and lots of it. Not my style but it was a well crafted wine.

2000 Orlando Abrigo Barbaresco Vigna Rongalio - getting paler with age, this held up very well in the tarry nose with dark cherry notes. On palate it was quite dry and had a medium length smooth finish. Although it has drunk well for a decade at least it is still holding well and had a long clean lightly acidic finish. Quite a contrast with the previous wine!

Had to look up Booker, have never heard of them. Must have been something Alvin brought back. Sounds very good--for Paso. I own zero Paso wines. Honestly, other than a Tablas Creek white a few months ago, I've never met a Paso wine I wanted more of. Is Alvin's palate changing?

I somehow ended up on a Booker mailing list and have maybe a case or two at this point. I’ve had a couple of the 2015s recently….. both GSM blends and both very, very good

He pulled it out Justin time.....

It wasn't bad for Paso - I've had decent Tablas etc. although it certainly isn't my favourite area either. I wouldn't buy it but I could drink it. It wasn't over the top like far too many Californian wines tend to be for my taste.
