Had these two wines last night for DinDin:
1. Cusumano Shamaris Grillo Tenuta MontePietroso DOC: Sicilia (12.5%; EB; www.Cusumano.It; TerlatoWines/LakeBluff/IL) Partinico 2021: Light gold color; quite fragrant floral/carnations/Grillo some stony/flinty/mineral almost R-like aromatics really lovely nose; quite tart/tangy/flinty fairly strong floral/carnations/Grillo fairly stony/mineral bit rustic rather lush bit complex flavor; very long rather strong flortal/carnations/Grillo bitearthy/flinty/slight rustic finish; quite a fragrant/perfumed wine for Sicilian w/o the rustic/coarse character they often show; almost a R in aromatics; quite a nice white for the price. $21.50 (KK)

2. Neyers Cuvee d'Honneur Syrah SonomaCoast (14.1%; www.NeyersVineyards.com) St.Helena 2012: Very dark color w/ slight bricking; beautiful c-c/black pepper very smokey/Rhonish/roasted meats/espresso strong peppery/Blackberry/Syrah strong Carneros/black olive tapenade quite complex bit toasty/oak nose; quite tart/tangy/slight metallic very strong Carneros/black olive tapenade strong blackberry/boysenberry/Syrah rather c-c/black pepper some toasty/oak rather Rhonish/roasted/smoked meats/espresso rather w-c/peppery quite complex beautiful flavor w/ modest tangy tannins; very long/lingering strong Rhonish/w-c/peppery/roasted/smoked meats quite complex finish w/ modest tannins; a beautiful expression of c-c/w-c/very Rhonish Calif Syrah; probably nearing peak maturity but should go another 3-6 yrs. $48.00

More dossanittle from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. I think the grapes for this wine, made by TadBorchadt, came mostly from the HudsonVnyd, maybe some from OldLakeView vnyd. The Cd'H has always been one of the most NorthernRhone Syrahs made in Calif.
