Yesterday we had this delightful Cab Franc:
2019 Adega on 45th Cabernet Franc Okanagan Valley
A lighter style of cab franc that suits me just fine--closer to Loire Cab Franc than typical North American. Bright, complex and fantastic QPR at $22 Canadian.
I entered the above into CT without revisiting the tasting note of the one previous occasion on which I had a wine from this winery (someone else's bottle). I just now looked it up. Turns out that one was a '17 with about the same amount of bottle age, and my notes were almost identical. In particular:
2017 Adega on 45th Cabernet Franc Okanagan Valley
...Complex and bright, very Loire-ish. Restrained and European, a food wine that came alive when the steaks were served.
Now I know--it really IS the house style.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
