NV Marc Hébrart Champagne Premier Cru Blanc de Blancs Extra-Brut - France, Champagne, Champagne Premier Cru (1/15/2023)
First time trying this cuvée from Hebrart, a producer I am very fond of. First thing is an obvious aroma of honeysuckle. Then it gets more minerally and also picks up bright lemon notes. On the palate it started out quite linear, but with good mid-palate depth. I would not call it rich, but it had more breadth than I was expecting, especially with the fresh acidity. Another glass a few hours later, after dinner, was similar, but also showed a chalkier base note, as well as a welcome touch of wheat bread to add some complexity. Quite delicious, especially for around $40.
