More vagraspurt from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. Arbe Garbe: This is the wnry of the two Friulians, Letizia and Enrico Bertoz. He is the winemaker at Flora Springs for his day job. They specialize in Friuli-style wines. This wine is their basic white blend. On it's release, it was dominated by the strong rather simple Malvasia Bianca character. With btl age, it has evolved into a wine showing lots of minerality that resembles a Malvasia d'Istriani. It would not have to bow its head in shame if taken to Friuli. Wonderful wine.

2. Teran or Terrano is a member of the Refosco family and grown mostly on the Carso/Karst plateau of Friuli and Slovenia & some in Croatia in the Western part of the Istrian Peninsula.
Supposedly, the content of bivalent iron (huh??) starts to drop radically about two yrs after fermentation & the wine turns flat & bitter & doesn't age well. I didn't see any signs of that in this older Terrano...but I may not be very sensitive to bivalent iron.
Left out overnight, the wine lost much of its perfume & became really hard & rough & rustic. Danged bivalent iron atoms!!
