More stipplefossel from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. The Nebbiolo variety is widely believed to originate in the Piemonte. But exactly where in the Piemonte Nebb originated is still not known. Of course, Nebb is a variety that mutates at the drop of a hat. There is some people who believe that the Prunent in Valli Ossolane predates the appearance of Nebb elsewhere in the Piemonte. That is still open for debate.
The Garrone Prunent comes from a vnyd of century-old vines, hence their use of the traditional name of Prunent. The Garrone folks are the largest producer of Prunent & lead an organization devoted to the revitalization of Prunent in Valli Ossolane. This wine is a real taste of history.
