When my son Tim joined the Army he signed up for Airborne. After his basic training he went to Ft. Benning, GA for jump school and after 2 weeks of training there, simulated parachute jumps off towers, etc., he developed shin splints. That ended his Airborne training and it took a few months to heal. He was transferred to an artillery unit, which he is now serving with in Iraq.Otto Nieminen wrote:After a rather short and easy jog a few weeks back I got shin splints.
