WTN: The Wonderful Thing About Tignanellos

2015 Antinori Tignanello Toscana IGT - Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT (12/23/2022)
Should have decanted, but unfortunately not an option, so I poured a small glass about 90 minutes in advance. At about the two hour mark it began to open up with red & black fruit and cedary notes. A little later it gained further depth, and integrated more, though the tannins always remained quite firm. Definitely lots of material for positive development, just much too early for a full showing. Still fun to try!

Mine too, but sometimes one has access to a bottle. Long story.

Tig was always my favorite Antinori wine, but pricing left me behind as well (but that is basically true of all SuperT)

Cepparello and Fontalloro are not totally crazy.

Similarly, my buy every vintage wines were Tig, Sassicaia and Solaia but I also stopped buying when they went out of (my) sight pricewise. I still have some early 1990s Tig (and one unaccountable 2005 I might have picked up in a trade) but that is it Still have a fair bit older Sassicaia and a decent length Solaia vertical in the 90s but will certainly not be adding any to the cellar at those prices.
