WTN: A McLaren Vale Fiano....(short/boring)

by TomHill » Tue Dec 20, 2022 3:29 pm

Tried this new wine last night:
1. Oliver's TarangaVnyds Fiano McLarenVale (13.5%; www.OliversTaranga.com; EpicureanWines/Seattle) McLarenVale/SouthAustralia 2019:Med.yellow/light gold color; fairly fragrant floral/carnations/perfumed talc/almondy slight earthy/nutty rather interesting nose; bit soft slight tangy/metallic rich/lush/slightly off-dry rather floral/carnations/Fiano bit perfumed talc/nutty/almondy somewhat attractive flavor; long fairly strong Fiano/floral/carnations bit almondy/nutty strong tangy/metallic slight earthy finish; a pleasant expression of Fiano but just that; not particularly distinctive; not the earthy/rustic character of Compania Fiano; a bit on the pricey side. $30.00 (SFW&S)

More sprigglecant from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. Really good examples of Fiano are rather few & far between. This Oz version is not one of them. Not particularly distinctive, sort of an Oakland wine.

An Oakland wine...lol.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Like HerbCaen said of Oakland..."there's no there there"!
