WTN: Ridge Essence Geyserville '14...(short/boring)

Sunday Laura had her Christmas Wine Dinner at Pig+Fig & the dessert of Chocolate Toffee Pudding w/ SeaSalt Caramel Gelato seemed like a natural for this wine:
1. Ridge Essence Geyserville AlexVlly/SonomaCnty (13.0%; 9 1/2 brls; bttld: Jan 2016; SaH: 38.2%; RS: 15.6%; Drk: 10/15-10/25-10/35: EB) Cupertino 2014: Very dark color w/ little bricking; very intense grapey/blackberry/boysenberry/very ripe Zin slight vanilla/Am.oak some complex beautiful nose; lightly tart very sweet/rich/lush intense grapey/boysenberry/blackberry/Zin/very ripe light toasty/oak some complex flavor w/ light tannins; very long/lingering very ripe/intense blackberry/boysenberry/Zin quite sweet some complex finish w/ light tannins; a beautiful ripe intense Essence w/o being overripe/raisened/pruney (that will come later) nor hot/alcoholic; one of the best Ridge Essences yet.

More Esserspittle from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. It doesn't identify the grapes used in this essence. I would guess the usual suspects...Zin/PetiteSirah/Carignane. The wine was showing no signs of its age & not showing any raisened/pruney character. A perfect match w/ Laura's Pudding.
