WTN: CowanCllrs Fiano '14...(short/boring)

Tried this Fiano last night w/ DinDin:
1. CowanCllrs Fiano RRV/SonomaCnty (13.9%) 2014: Med.dark gold color; strong veryfragrant floral/gardenias/spicy/cardamon/nutmeg light chalky/mineral slight steely/earthy lovely perfumed nose; lightly tart/tangy/steely/metallic fairly floral/gardenias/Fiano bit earthy/stony/mineral quite perfumed flavor; very long somewhat tart/tangy/metallic fairly rich/lush rather floral/Fiano/gardenias bit complex light stony/earthy finish; I recall this as being kinda bland on release but has really developed into a lovely Fiano; it shows a bit earthy/rustic/metallic character you sometimes get in Italian Fiano; one of the better Calif Fianos I can recall; great job here, FloridaJim.

More cruckeister from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. After a disappointing Ribolla '14 the night before, I cracked this wine w/ low expectations as Fiano in Calif doesn't make a particularly distinctive white. Surprise, it had developed into a quite attractive fragrant Fiano. Not a profound Fiano (don't know that I've ever had one such), but really quite nice.

I suspect that Fiano planted in West-side Paso, in calcareous soil, would give something more reminiscent of the better southern -central Italian iterations.
