Made a bottom-feeding foray into TraderJoe's this weekend and found a winner:

The Originals Syrah WashState (13.3%) V&B by TheOriginals/WallaWalla/Wash 2020: Very dark/near black color; very strong blackberry/boysenberry/ripe/plummy bit chocolaty some toasty/oak slight earthy intense WashState Syrah nose; soft very rich/lush intense blackberry/boysenberry/Syrah/plummy/chocolaty some toasty/Fr.oak bit simple flavor w/ light soft tannins; very long bit soft/soupy very strong blackberry/Syrah/boysenberry/plummy bit toasty/oak bit simple finish; a bit on the soft/soupy side & lacking structure but packed w/ WashState Syrah aromatics & flavors; a steal at $6.00 (TJ)

When I saw this new wine at TJ's, the label stuck out because it had the classic/ugly CharlesSmith graphics and I suspected I might score with it. I did. The Originals also makes a handful of other vgarieties that I try as they appear on the TJ's shelves. Presumably a CharlesSmith wine.
