In the WorldOfFineWine, there's an interesting article by NicolasBelfrage:
[Sagrantino](https://worldoffinewine.com/2022/10/15/ ... ne-umbria/)
on the revival of Sagrantino in Montefalco. It's origins are unknown.
Interesting to me, as the Italian producers are wont to do, they have made the use of Sagrantino, a variety name, forbidden on the use of the name of any Sagrantino produced elsewhere in Italy other than in Montefalco. Just as the Italians did with Vermentino.
Tomorrow, we'll be tasting the new Ryme Sagrantino, grown by RonSiletto. So take that you Montefalco folks!! In the US, we call it what it is.
