WTN: Leader of the Bandol

2021 Château de Pibarnon Bandol Rosé - France, Provence, Bandol (10/19/2022)
Did a pop and pour on this, as I got home late, and wanted a ray of sunshine in an otherwise cloudy day. It sure did the trick. Other tasters have noted it, but this is all about ripe melon and peach. There’s also some strawberry to it, so a seriously tasty fruit salad. Acidity is solid, and it has fine depth. Good thing, as I bought a case. This should hold up just fine for the next few years. Solid value in the overheated Rosé market.

Sounds great. While I enjoy roses from everywhere, the only ones I will buy more than 2 at a time are Baudry., ESJ, and the Bandols like Pibaron, Pradeaux, and Bastide Blanche (Tempier too expensive, Ott not to my tastes AND too expensive)

At this point my major Rosé purchases are Bedrock & Bandol. I have come to the conclusion that Mourvedre is by far my favorite grape for this type of wine.

Have to agree about the Mourvedre grape. I used to buy Tempier in my early years but now around $69 Cda. No sign of Pibarnon in my area.
