WTN: Two New Rhymes....(short/boring)

by TomHill » Mon Oct 17, 2022 3:12 pm

Tried these two new Rymes over the last two days:
1. Ryme Fiano RanchoCoda RRV/SonomaCnty (13.1%) 2021: Med.gold color; very strong herbal/SB-like/spicy/slight cardamon some figgy/Semillon-like bit floral/marigolds very slight earthy some complex quite perfumed nose; fairly tart rather rich strong floral/pungent/marigolds bit herbal/SB-like/figgy/Semillon-like light earthy complex flavor; very long/lingering some pungent/floral/marigolds slight herbal/figgy/Semillon-like complex finish; one of the best Calif Fianos yet w/ lots of interesting aromatics; much more aromatics and less earthiness than Italian Fianos. $35.00
_____________
2. Ryme Vermentino "His" LasBrisasVnyd/Carneros/SonomaCnty (12.8%) 2021: Dark gold/burnished bronze some cloudy color; quite resiny strong phenolic/VM/skin-contact light orangey/honeycomb some spicy/Verm/floral/carnations bit earthy/graham crackers rather fragrant quite attractive nose; lightly tart/tangy/metallic fairly strong resiny rather phenolic/VM slight orangey/honeycomb/honey grahams some austere/savory slight Verm/floral/carnations quite interestig flavor w/ light tannic bite; very long/lingering rather resiny strong/phenolic/VM slight Verm/floral/carnations; a classic "His" that will only get better & should go out 10 yrs or longer; has more Verm fruit than previous young "His"; needs age & food. $35.00

More jickersplatz from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. I am particularly fond of all Ryan & Megan Glaab's Rymes. Particularly their whites. Their Fianos in the past have come from the Lago vnyd and have been a bit on the mild-mannered side. This is their first from the RanchoCoda vnyd & I was quite impressed. Much more aromatics.
They make two Vermintinos from FrankMahoney's LasBrisas vnyd. I typically like the "Hers" because of its more intense perfumed aromatics. The "His" is made in amphora & given a fair amount of skin contact and typically has a strong VM/skin-contact signature. But they seem to age wonderfully well and always mature into very lovely mature VM Vermentinos.
