Poderi Parpinello Ala Blanc Dd'OC: Vermentino di Sardegna (13.5%; EnotecImprts/GreenwoodVillage/CO; L.2040) /Alghero/Sardegna 2021: Med.gold color; fairly fragrant floral/carnations/Verm fairly stony/chalky/mineral slight metallic/steely quite attractive nose; quite tart/tangy some steely/metallic rather mineral/chalky/stony/bit earthy slight floral/Verm/carnations flavor; med.long slight floral/Verm/carnations rather steely/mineral/chalky finish; not a whole lot of fragrant Verm fruit & dominated by the Sardinia terroir; a pleasant enough Sardinian white but just that. $14.00 (KK)

Quintarelli Bianco Secco Ca'del Merlo IGT: Veneto (12.5%; Garganega + TrebbianoToscano/SauvBlanc/Chard/Saorin; KermitLynch; L225.20) Giuseppe Quintarelli; Negrar/Valpolicella/Verona 2019: Med.gold color; lightly floral/dandelions/zinnias quite mineral/stony/perfumed talc/earthy rather saline rather interesting nose; quite tart/tangy fairly rich very strong mineral/chalky/stony/perfumed talc very slight floral/dandelions/pungent quite saline/savory flavor; very long/lingering very strong mineral/chalky/flinty/perfumed talc very slight floral/dandelions quite savory/saline finish; loads of terroir-driven character & a real paucity of fruit but a rather interesting complex savory white; way overpriced at $60.00 (SFW&S)

1. Garganega is a white grape grown mostly in the Veneto & used mostly in Soave. Saorin is a very rare local grape in Valpolicella.
The wine was a rather interesting white but pretty overpriced for what it is. But it's a Quintarelli so you gotta pay a lot for that prestigious name.
