2020 Golan Heights Winery Sauvignon Blanc Gilgal Galilee
Galia melon and mild grassy notes on the nose, less impact on the palate, lacks intensity. Pleasant, but.

2020 Barkan Sauvignon Blanc Classic Upper Galilee
High tone yellow, extracted, plastic flavors, oxidation in process. Horrible. Even the fruit flies won't go near it.

2016 Domaine Fabien Coche Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay
Am surprised to see how little I paid for this wine ($27) after drinking a bottle Monday night. The mouthfeel, the intensity, the development--all speak to a higher priced wine, $40+ even though 'just' a bourgogne.

2021 Domaine du Bagnol Cassis Rosé Rosé Blend
Strawberries and white pepper. Very balanced, very focussed with good depth and zing factor. Classy and well above average for a French rose. Not a bargain cheapie at $34, but loved it anyway. One of the best roses I've had all summer.

2019 Cantina Produttori del Gavi Gavi Il Forte Cortese
Ordered this at the Leader Block last weekend not realizing it was the same wine let alone same vintage that I'd tasted (three times now) from Costco where it sells for $10. Where the Costco bottles didn't taste of Cortese, however, last night's absolutely sang Cortese. Very fresh with green melon and loads of chalky, saline minerality.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
