I went to the Salon de Vins de Loire a couple of weeks ago, and got rather burnt-out on Cab Franc for a spell. Well, this marks my return to the saddle, and a fine choice if I do say so. Cherry, rust, 'blood in a tin can' and the cigar saturated flavors of 40 year old wallpaper at a Chicago supper-club. The wine is completely fleshed out -satin-like in texture, but with enough drive left to satisfy the most fickle Loire red fan. I've long admired Rousse for being REAL Chinon (There aren't many left). 12,5% Alc. $13
