More fittersplatz from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. DarrenDelmore is the national marketring genius for TablasCreek. He makes a small amount of wine on the side under his DarrenDelmore label. These three wines were donated to us by Laura from the mixed case Darren brought with him to SFW&CF. He originally made his wine at the TCV wnry, but I believe he now has his own wnry in the TinCity ghetto of Paso.
The Bassi vnyd sets in the Avila Vlly about a mile from the Pacific, so a perticularly cool vnyd. It now has become part of the new SLO Coast AVA. I believe Darren related to me that Bassi had some of the original suitcase clone of Syrah that DickGraff brought in yrs ago from the Rhone.
Darren's first Syrahs were made from StoloFamilyVnyd out near Cambria, maybe one of the coldest Syrah vnyds in Calif. They were all outstanding. But this Bassi has more intensity & structure and may be his best Syrah yet.
