WTN: Winds of Winter

2020 Desire Lines Winds of Change - USA, California (9/30/2022)
Four hours in the decanter opened this right up, it’s not as obviously savory as the 2019, but the fruit is solid and juicy, with good underlying structure. The finish has a bright red raspberry tone, and then a hit of earthiness as it progresses, so zi suspect that savory core is just yet to emerge. Fun and excellent value for drinking now, and probably going to drink through mine too quickly to see what might really develop.

Hard to keep up everywhere these days. Someone posted on Disorder about a new Beaujolais producer (Hoppenot), I look them up and see them available near me, along with so many other (presumably high-quality) new Beaujolais producers that I've never heard of!

Syrah with Carignan and Mourvèdre.

Desire Line is Cody Rasmussen’s label. He is associate winemaker at Bedrock.

Opened another bottle this evening. Just so good. Best value wine in California.
