2015 Turley Petite Syrah Library Vineyard - USA, California, Napa Valley, St. Helena (9/27/2022)
Two hours in the decanter, and then over the next couple of hours it unfurled a bit, but still remained more than a little inscrutable. Lots of dark fruit tied up with a barbed wire lanyard of tannin, only a touch of juiciness poked out on the finish. In need of at least five (maybe ten) more years to truly open up, but the balance indicates it will always be true to its varietal roots, remaining a bit of a bruiser.
