Moderately intense with with apple and banana notes on the nose and palate with a little hay thrown in on the finish. Paid $16 locally for this--a bargain.

It was; just fine on its own for sipping too. Very balanced.

My wife is a big Gavi fan (and GV as well)….. but I don’t feel like I know much about it. Any go to producers like a Guigal type of situation?

Unfortunately, John, I can't be of much help. Other than Villa Sparina I may never have bought the same Gavi twice. Not a lot of selection where I live, and this isn't the level of wine I'm going to pay for shipping on.
