The color of overused used motor oil. The intensity of a supernova. The sweetness of a thousand pounds of sugar reduced to a single drop. The acidity of exploding a 9 volt battery on the tongue. This was the single most concentrated wine I have ever tasted in my life, as the super-ripeness of Albalonga, combined with the hyper-botrytis of 1989 created something that could normally only be produced in a lab, with a half-life in micros-seconds. A wine that exists at the extreme end of the periodic table…
