Last night with 5-6 ounce filet mignons and a Roquefort-brandy pan sauce on crispy potato pancakes:
2001 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou St. Julien
Decanted for one hour. Could have used more as it continued to open up, and the last drop was the best. Unmistakeably Bordeaux with earth, cedar, red and black fruits, all that. Great showing.
