Wanted a red last night, so cracked:
1. TheOjaiVnyd Syrah BienNacidoVnyd/SantaMariaVlly (14.0%) 2011: Med.dark color w/ some browning; some cedary/pencilly/oldRed strong black cherry/BN Syrah/blackberry quite c-c/black pepper some Rhonish/roasted/w-c/espresso/smoked meats fairly strong toasty/Fr.oak fairly complex nose; some tart/tangy very strong toasty/smokey/Fr.oak strong black cherry/BN Syrah/blackberry some w-c/Rhonish/smoked meats light cedary/pencilly/oldRed bit dried out/astringent some complex Rhonish flavor w/ light drying/astringent tannins; very long strong toasty/smokey/Ojai oak some black cherry/BN Syrah/blackberry fairly tart/tangy somewhat drying/astringent complex finish w/ light drying tannins; a fairly classic Ojai Syrah but headed downhill.

More asserkrap from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. I was expecting more from this Ojai. It still offered up complexity & pleasure on the nose, but on the palate it was fairly far along to drying out. Only going to continue the downhill stride. But it still shows that distinctive BienNacido black cherry character.
