WordOnTheGrapevine: The Story of Timorasso

by TomHill » Thu Aug 25, 2022 1:22 pm

Interesting article, forwarded to me by BillEaston on Timorasso:
Timorasso ,
one of my most favorite grapes. Lots of detail from Elisa Semino, of LaColombera, on modern practices of growing this finiky grape & making the wine. Her Timorasso is one of my favorites. Lots (well...not a whole lot) of new plantings in Derthona. Apparently, Barolo producers are taking quite an interest in growing the variety.
Brian Harrington was instrumental in getting Timorasso back to FPS. The first planting was by SamBilbro of Idlewild. He should have got his first tiny crop off his YorkvilleHighlands vnyd this last Fall.
Anyway, quite a good writeup on Timorasso.
