Pretty deep red violet. Strawberry/raspberry and a touch herbal on the nose. At first, a fairly high acidity which I found unpleasant. About 45 minutes exposure to air tones that down, although it is still a bit higher than I would like. Tannins are quite strong as well, at least for a Beaujolais, anyway. Robust structure. The acidity gives the impression of slightly unripe fruit, but you can detect the sweetness at the finish. Good length. Best if left alone for another 5 to 10 years. Definitely has the stuffing to age.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
