WTN: A couple of July 4th wines

by Jim Grow » Tue Jul 05, 2022 2:43 pm

It was a beautiful day in southern Ohio and my wife and I spent the afternoon on the deck playing UPWORDS with a nice breeze and sipping Aubry 2014 Le Nombre d'Ore. Excellent Champagne with lots of spicy pear and yeasty biscuit. For dinner we grilled burgers and had baked beans and a 2013 Cliff Lede Cabernet, my first from this Napa producer. Almost a WOW wine with abundant black fruit and a strong spicy note that stayed from start to finish. A fine day with mowing done and only moderate heat.

Ditto us, too. Also, Cliff Lede ain't too bad!

We went to a party but weren't in the mood to drink much, and the offerings didn't persuade us to change our mind.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
