Had these three over the last few days:
1. la Colombera Timorasso IlMontino Dd'OC: ColliTortonesi (14.00%; www.lacolomberavini.it/en; GiulianoImprts/Boulder) LaColombera/Semino/Tortona/Piedmont 2018: Light gold color; quite fragrant floral/gardenias/honeysuckle/melony light pencilly/oak light mineral/perfumed talc slight nutty/oxidative beautiful/complex nose; somewhat tart/tangy light mineral/perfumed talc some floral/Timo/gardenias/honeysuckle/melony slight pencilly/oak bit nutty slight metallic/tangy bit rich/lush rather complex flavor; very long/lingering some mineral/chalky/perfumed talc some floral/gardenias/Timo somewhat rich/tangy/bit metallic light pencilly/oak slight nutty complex finish; a beautiful Timo that's starting to show some maturity/complexity & should go another 2-5 yrs. $42.00 (KK)

Ryme RibollaGialla VareVnyd/NapaVlly (13.5%) 2018: Dark gold/burnished bronze/slight browning color strong resinous/phenolic/ViniMacerati/skin-contact slight orangey/honeyed slight white pepper/RG light earthy fairly perfumed complex quite savory/saline nose; quite tart/tangy bit austere.savory/saline quite resinous/phenolic/VM light earthy some honeyed/orangey slight white pepper/RG complex flavor w/ light tannic bite; very long/lingering very strong resinous/very phenolic/VM quite austere/savory/saline bit orangey/honeyed complex finish w/ some tannic bite; dominated by the VM/phenolic character & needs 5-10 yrs to develop yet; the next morning at room temperature it was much more attractive w/ loads of honeyed character & not nearly so resiny.

Drew Syrah ValentiRanch/MendoRidge (13.5%) 2020: Very dark color; intense blackberry/boysenberry/Syrah/quite spicy slight c-c/black pepper some w-c/peppery/Rhonish/roasted meats modest toasty/Fr.oak bit complex nose; quite tart/tangy/slight metallic intense spicy/blackberry/Syrah/peppery some w-c/Rhonish/roasted somewhat hard/tannic/austere/structured strong Fr.oak some c-c/peppery bit complex flavor w/ ample hard tannins; very long/lingering strong blackberry/very spicy/Syrah/peppery somew-c/Rhonish rather austere/structured bit complex finish w/ ample chewey tannins; a pretty classic w-c/c-c/MendoRidge Syrah that needs 5-10 yrs of age; very structured/rugged Syrah that should be a great one w/ age. $55.00/$46.75

1. Timo: La Colombera is one of my favorite Timo producers. They make a basic Derthona level wine and this top-end comes from their IlMontino vnyd.
Timo was near extinct by the early '80's, until it was revived by WalterMaassa in the early '90's. He still makes the iconic Timo, but I think this Colombera is just as good as it efforts.
Timo is an ancient Piemontes variety. Don't know that any DNA work has been done on it.
