2016 Failla Pinot Noir Hirsch Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (6/24/2022)
More Failla than Hirsch, as it shows an upfront, juicy quality, and only later does the earthy, anchored element of Hirsch come through. Probably needs more cellar time, but oh well.

Sometimes it's just hard to wait. I still, unless I know not to, err on the side of before-four-years or wait-until-eight with pinot noir.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

This, along with a bottle of the 2015 that is lurking around somewhere, was a singleton from when I was briefly in the club. No good time for solo bottles.

I opened a 2008 a few years ago at an Indianapolis tasting and was blown away. Mostly mushrooms and fresh turned earth shouted out with some black fruit in the background. The nose was a bit more intense than the palate and I did a lot of sniffing. My most memorable P.N. ever. not cheap but worth it.......also not sure about the vintage
