2019 Gut Hermannsberg Altenbamberger Rotenberg Riesling Großes Gewächs - Germany, Nahe (6/19/2022)
Early days yet, but this is what I want in GG Riesling - power, aligned with grace, and dry taste. Feels almost Austrian in style, though the underlying minerals are different. The finish has a rounded shape, despite the more than adequate acidity. Seems like a long ager, but I will check in again after a year or so in case it alters course.

Sounds good. I've never heard of this producer.I see Wine Cellarage in Bronx has a few offerings, but not this bottling. Did you acquire locally ?

It took on the current name in 2010 after the former state winery from Schlossböckelheim-Niederhausen was privatized. I think they have good holdings.

Yes, it is the old Nahe State Domaine. It's finally back under good stewardship after a poor period. The holdings are very fine. The Kupfergrube parcel that Donnhoff had for a while is back in their hands after a land swap that gave Donnhoff more Hermannshohle.

I acquired this wine through Fass Selections.
