We tasted these three at Pig+Fig ystrday:
1. LimerickLane HailMary RRV/SonomaCnty (92% Syrah/8% Grenache); 14.3%) 2011: Very dark color w/ light bricking; very strong blackberry/Syrah/boysenberry/quite spicy slight strawberry/Grenache rather RRV/peppery some toasty/Fr.oak light pencilly somewhat complex lovely nose; fairly tart quite spicy/blackberry/syrah/ripe/boysenberry bit lean/angular some toasty/oak slight metallic/drying rather complex flavor w/ light tangy tannins; very long/lingering strong blacberry/Syrah/boysenberry/slight strawberry/Grenache some toasty/oak/pencilly slight drying/metallic finish w/ light tannins; still loads of beautiful fragrant Syrah fruit but a bit of a metallic/drying bite on the palate & needs to be drunk.

More frigglesurpa from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. The LL Hail Mary was a wine first made when then ran out of fermentating tank space, so tossed the whole-clusters of Syrah & Grenache into a tank & declared "Hail Mary" to see what would come out.
I liked all three of these Syrahs quite a lot. The '11 & '14 were starting to show a bit of drying on the palate but still in pretty good shape. I preffered the '16 for its greater intensity of fruit. None of these even hinted of a Rhonish/roasted character I would have expected from a w-c ferment. All classic ripe LL reds.

The 2014 was the wine that got me into LL.
