WTN: Cedarville {Syrah} ElDorado '19....(short/boring)

by TomHill » Sun Jun 05, 2022 5:20 pm

My Cedarville shipment came in a week ago, so tried this:
1. CedarvilleVnyds {Syrah} Estate/ElDorado (15.1%; 75 cs) JonathanLachs/FairPlay/ElDorado 2019: Med.dark color; strong very spicy/blackberry/Syrah/blueberry/bit peppery light ElD/earthy/mushroomy/truffly fairly aromatic light pencilly/oak bit herbal/thyme lovely very interesting nose; somewhat tart/tangy light ElD/earthy/mushroomy fairly spicy/blackberry/blueberry/Syrah light pencilly/oak slight Rhonish/Cornas-like flavor w/ modest tangy tannins; very long/lingering bit earthy/mushroomy/ElD some spicy/Syrah/blueberry/blackberry light pencilly/oak finish w/ modest tannins; speaks strongly of ElDCnty and almost has a Cornas-like/rustic character; quite an interesting somewhat Rhonish Syrah at a very fair price. $26.00

1. I have, of course, followed the Cedarville wines from the very start when Jonathan & Susan first showed them at HdR many a yr ago. They are regular buys for me each year. But I'll sure miss seeing Susan when I do my next visit. She was an absolute gem.

Sounds like a syrah I'd love. I remember tasting at that winery and meeting Jon and Susan then. I'm glad he's been able to continue after his loss.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
