DC Wine Festival

by James Roscoe » Sun Feb 25, 2007 7:08 pm

The DC Wine Festival is in two weeks. Are any locals going to be there? Is anyone coming into town for the event? Will there be ANY interesting wines being poured? I have snagged a trade ticket so I get two hours before the hoi poloi come in for the drunk fest. It has also returned to it's original site on Capitol Hill. I think it will be a Metro day for me. Anyone want to get together Saturday evening?

I'll be pouring, not for TWG but for "The Company of Wine People" (ex Omnia) whose best known brand is Kumkani. Come by and taste some yummy Viognier.

I won't make this one but I did sign up for the France vs. the Rest of the World Tasting on June 30th at the French Embassy.

The details are at the website listed above. Get tickets before Friday for the discount. I think the Washington Post gives an event deeper discount. Try their website http://www.washingtonpost.com.

I'll be up in New England. I hope you can post a few comments about it afterwards.

I'm going to the South African guided tasting at 4pm on Sunday, and I volunteered to pour for the WWA earlier in the day if they need me. Out of town through Saturday night, though, so Sunday is the only day I can make it.
