2019 Goodfellow Family Cellars Pinot Noir Willamette Valley
$25 at my local Co-op. Bright, clear ruby red. Bright acidity shows cranberry, light cherry fruit surrounding a round, malo/buttery core. Hard to ID--doesn't taste like Oregon or anywhere else either. Needs a few hours to open up, and even then more a food wine than sipper for now.

We couldn't drink it the first night I opened it. Left the bottle open on the counter for 24 hours to get it to a good place, and it worked well with the cold tomato salad we had for dinner.

Really? That seems odd. Though I have to say that over the last couple of years it's been clear to me that our palates are not as strongly aligned as I once thought they were. Not an issue, just my current perception.

Thing is, I taste with a lot of people with a variety of palates and I honestly don't think the way in which I failed to be captivated by this was an alignment issue. If there was that big a gap between us, I wouldn't have been as taken with the Idlewild wines. I've liked other Goodfellows--a lot.
