WTN: 2005 Covey Run Riesling Washington.

2005 Covey Run Riesling Washington. 12.7% alcohol; $25 at City Sheraton. Pale yellow color, clear hue, intense fruit and spice aroma, peaches and melon, odd sharp fruit taste with little charm, orange peel and quite sweet, honey sweet, medium mouth feel, long finish. Didn't have enough of a sense of Riesling character for me. And, sweeter than I would expect from a 0.95% R.S. 2*.

We left a bit late for the Schmucker's Stars on Ice show in Philadelphia Friday evening, and didn't get to the hotel until after 11:30 with no time for dinner at one of our favorite Philadelphia restaurants. There was a pizza joint that delivered -- miserable pizza, actually, and not enhanced by this wine.

Thank goodness the skating was wonderful at its best (although a bit uneven overall), and we sat on the ice level for the first time -- quite a fascinating view point -- very different from other levels.

Regards, Bob

What caliber of handgun was the guy/gal packing when they held you up? The stuff retails for $8 and is overpriced at that.... I'm afraid I would have to say something to management. That's outrageous IMHO.

Thanks, Randy. I had a typo there -- it was $25, not $35, at the hotel bar. about three times retail in our area.

I've edited my post to correct the numbers; sorry. Still pretty pricey though. Last time I'll take that route to Philadelphia. :(
