WTN: 05 Jermann Pignolo, 11 Il Marroneto Brunello

Nightcap time with Yixin and we begin with 2005 Jermann Pignolo Pignacolusse, which is dark and robust old wine, without any particular distinction. It's not every day that I drink 17 year old pignolo. But there may be a reason for that.

Not satisfied, Yixin relieves the bar of their last bottle of 2011 Il Marroneto Brunello, which was a true joy. Gorgeous perfume that mingles sweet and savory, fine elegant structure, and deep piercing flavors. I don't drink much Brunello but this makes the case convincingly.

Now there's a name I haven't heard/read in a long time. How is Yixin doing these days?

Doing well. He has a company importing wine (and other foodstuffs) to Singapore for roughly 10 years at this point.

Glad to hear that Yixin is doing what he likes. It must be well over 10 years since I last met him!

Yes, I did a double take on the date of this post when I saw Yixin's name to make sure it wasn't an old post resurrected.
