- 2007 Weingut Keller Abts E® Riesling Spätlese Goldkapsel - Germany, Rheinhessen (4/8/2022)
Not served blind, nor was it opened ahead, as our host generously offered the run of his cellar, and I picked this. In a good place now, but there are decades of life ahead for this wine. It’s just starting to shed some of the fat that came with the 2007 vintage, a bit of a tingle of acidity making its presence felt on the finish. The flavors are all orchard fruit and a dash of the tropical, that fruit salad that the more luscious Rieslings can bring. The low alcohol and vibrant fruit pretty much ensure we would drain the bottle faster than you can type Abst E…wait…how do I get that special character…oh crap the bottle is empty.

We can, but the label has that stupid restricted symbol.

yeah, I know, and I think I listed that way on TNs on 2020. But in conversation we can call it like Keller.
