WTN: Stuck in Lodi Again…and Again

by David M. Bueker » Tue Apr 05, 2022 7:03 pm

  • 2018 Sandlands Zinfandel - USA, California, Central Valley, Lodi (4/5/2022)
Lighter than the typical Zinfandel, but not lacking in flavor intensity, this wine conveys the bramble fruit and warm herb signature of the grape. It’s immediately accessible, and that’s a virtue. It’s fun to drink now. Be happy for a few moments, no matter what else troubles you.

I still don't trust Lodi wines. Is it time for me to get over that?

Depends on the producer. What concerns you?

High alcohol and overripe fruit.

That can be avoided.

Didn't used to be possible, though. Like buying wine from Bakersfield, without the oil slick.
